The Programme Manager is required immediately and will be supporting both our client’s Culture and our Diversity & Inclusion implementation and action plans.  Therefore, individuals who have experience applying programme/project management disciplines to the implementation of culture change/organisational development projects would be highly desirable.

 

This is an urgent requirement and as such we are looking to appoint to the role w/c 28th September 2020.

 

Culture Change Programme Manager

Duration: Expected to last up to 6 months with a possible 6 month extension

Band: 8A

Pay Rates:

£29.00 to £33.50 paye including holiday pay per hour or £33.00 -£38 umbrella depending on skill and experience.

IR35: Falls within IR35

Start: Asap

Working days: Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm

 

Job Summary

The post holder will utilise programme and project management methodologies to support members of the Culture and Leadership Programme Board to lead the team in the delivery of work streams and project plans, allocating tasks as appropriate, identifying risks, issues and dependencies, considering best practice and current options and ultimately making decisions to ensure the successful delivery of culture change, diversity and inclusion and leadership development projects.

 

The Programme Manager is required immediately and will be supporting both our Culture and our Diversity & Inclusion implementation and action plans.  Therefore, individuals who have experience applying programme/project management disciplines to the implementation of culture change/organisational development projects would be highly desirable.

 

Job Duties

  • Production of the Culture and Leadership Programme delivery plan and implementation tracker;
  • Support workstream leads to produce status and update reports for the Programme Board, People Management Group, Executive Management Team, Workforce Education Committee meetings and Trust Board Meetings;
  • Ensure the identification of project risks, issues, dependencies and assumptions;
  • Ensure allocated workstreams remain on-time and on-budget;
  • Ensure project benefits and success measures are defined, monitored and realised;
  • Work with the Trust communication department to establish a communication plan for the programme;
  • Establish and manage the co-ordination of Programme Board meetings and specified workstream meetings;
  • The post-holder will be required to provide and receive information of a highly sensitive and confidential nature relating to a range of staffing issues relating to their area of responsibility. There may be significant barriers to acceptance due to the challenges the audience may present.
  • The Programme Manager will have expertise in improvement and programme delivery. They will come together with other managers and senior leaders to provide expert guidance and direct support (through coaching, recommendations, facilitation and advice) in the delivery of action plans
  • The Programme Manager will develop constructive relationships with key senior stakeholders deputising for senior department staff as required
  • The Programme Manager will work on a confidential basis with senior managers to explore their needs and potential solutions in regard to the action plans
  • The post-holder will be required to enable the continuous improvement and development of learning and OD services, particularly, but not exclusively relating to Culture and Diversity & Inclusion programmes.
  • To model a collaborative and influencing style of working, negotiating with others to achieve the best outcomes.
  • The post-holder will work in partnership with senior HR and OD colleagues to deliver the necessary actions and to build and embed capability and capacity within the organisation;
  • To be a highly motivated individual, demonstrating a transformational leadership style and adopt a flexible approach to meet the competing demands of the role

 

Key Skills, Qualification and Experience

  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent portfolio of demonstrable experience within a relevant subject
  • Significant experience in Programme Management within a large and complex environment.
  • Highly derived specialist knowledge in the provision of programme management services
  • Experience of working at senior manager level
  • Demonstrated capability to plan over short, medium and long-term timeframes and adjust plans and resource requirements accordingly.
  • Comprehensive experience of project and programme management principles techniques and tools such as Prince 2 and Managing Successful Projects.
  • Confident facilitation and presentation skills with the ability to engage varied audiences
  • Able to build trusted and credible relationships with a range of staff across the trust
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills
  • Capable of sound judgement based on complex situations requiring analysis, interpretation and decision making.
  • Understanding of contemporary NHS Training agenda issues
  • Understanding of diversity management across large complex organisations and all staff groups
